Privacy policy

ReminDIY is published by Mother Road Innovations, LLC of Oklahoma, USA. This policy covers the ReminDIY mobile app for Android and iPhone.

The short version: ReminDIY has no account and no server. What you enter stays on your phone, and we never see it.

What we collect

Nothing. ReminDIY does not ask you to register, does not sign you in, and has no server of its own to send anything to. There is no analytics package, no advertising network, and no crash-reporting service in the app.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter — the things you own, their maintenance items, service history, readings, fill-ups, part numbers, costs, and any phone number you save with a service record — is written to storage on your own device and stays there. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, or shared.

Because it lives on the device, that data is included in whatever device backup you already use (iCloud or Google's backup, if you have it switched on). Those backups are governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, not ours. Deleting the app deletes the data with it, so export or note down anything you want to keep before you uninstall.

Leaving the app

Two things in ReminDIY open something outside it:

Finding a part. Tapping to look up a part opens Amazon in your browser or the Amazon app, with the part description or number as the search. What happens after that is between you and Amazon, under their privacy policy. If we earn a commission on a purchase made through one of those links, the app says so where the link appears.
Calling a shop. Tapping a phone number you saved hands it to your phone's dialler. The number came from you and is stored only on your device.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled by your phone and delivered by your phone. Nothing is sent from us, and the content of a reminder does not leave the device.

Children

ReminDIY is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — to see it, correct it, or have it deleted. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. The data is on your device, under your control, and you can change or delete any of it in the app at any time.

We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not have any.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of ReminDIY collects anything — a subscription, for instance, is handled by Apple or Google and tells us that a purchase happened — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
